DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND EQUALITY
( KINGDOM OF NEW ATLANTIS )

1) Help in fighting individual violations of human rights either directly or by supporting through government law enforcement agencies or government commissions or through the relevant court of law.

2) Offering direct assistant to those whose rights have been violated.

3) Contributing to the implementation of the human rights treaties.

4) Conducting prompt and impartial investigations of alleged violations of human rights

5) To take all necessary measures to ensure the protection of individuals against any form of Violation/ Threats/ Retaliations/ Discrimination / Pressure or any other arbitrary action asa consequence of His/Her legitimate exercise of the rights referred to in the declaration of UDHR 1948

6) Help in presenting public awareness initiatives to bolster human rights literacy.

7) Advocating in Support of the democratization and end to corruption.

8 ) To focus on encouraging the Government as a whole to fulfill it’s human rights obligations.

9) Help in supporting better Governance and government policies.
